National Resistance Brigades Mourn Fallen Commander Eyad Abu Rahma in Khan Younis

The National Resistance Brigades, the military wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine and also known as the Martyr Omar Al-Qasim Forces, have announced the martyrdom of one of their senior field commanders, Eyad Ali Abu Rahma. The 35-year-old commander was assassinated earlier today in an Israeli strike targeting a location south of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.

Abu Rahma held the critical position of head of training and preparation in the Rafah area, where he played a key role in strengthening the military capacity of the Brigades. His loss marks a significant blow to the group’s operational structure, particularly in the south, where the resistance has been intensifying in recent months.

In a statement released by the Brigades, the leadership expressed profound sorrow over Abu Rahma’s assassination but affirmed their unwavering commitment to the path of resistance. “The blood of our commanders fuels our determination.

Our struggle continues until liberation and the return of our people,” the statement read. The group also vowed retaliation and warned that the enemy will not escape the consequences of targeting resistance leaders.

They emphasized that the resistance remains a strategic choice, and every loss will only deepen their resolve to confront occupation and aggression. Eyad Abu Rahma was known among fighters as a dedicated and strategic leader, instrumental in preparing a new generation of resistance fighters through disciplined training and ideological education.

His funeral, attended by hundreds in Rafah, turned into a large demonstration of support for continued resistance. The assassination of Abu Rahma is part of an ongoing campaign by Israeli forces aimed at dismantling Palestinian armed factions in Gaza.

Despite the targeted killings, the National Resistance Brigades and other factions remain steadfast in their declaration that no amount of military pressure will extinguish their pursuit of national rights and return. This latest development comes amid heightened tensions in Gaza and signals a potential escalation as resistance groups prepare to respond to the growing list of martyrs among their leadership.
